What this is
As a registered U.S. business, Tradeit follows KYC (Know Your Customer) and AML (Anti-Money Laundering) rules. Large card payments are checked automatically through Stripe Identity. It's a one-time check — once you're verified, you won't be asked again.
What triggers it
A single card top-up or direct Store purchase of $2,000 or more, or
certain other account activity.
When it applies, the funds from that card payment are held until you verify.
What to expect
You'll see a banner asking you to verify — click it.
A short intro screen appears, then Stripe's own verification opens.
Take a photo of your government ID, then a selfie.
That's it — usually about two minutes.
Your privacy
Tradeit never receives or stores your ID photo or selfie. Stripe sends us only a pass/fail result and your confirmed name and country.
When it passes
Your held payment is released and credited automatically — no need to contact us.
If it doesn't go through
After two attempts you'll see "Verification unsuccessful, contact Support." Reach out in live chat and we'll help.
Note: This is separate from the bank-statement code some card top-ups ask for (the short code starting with "Q" on your statement). That's a different check with its own article.
