Can I get a refund instead?
In many cases, yes. If the item you bought is still trade locked and sitting in your Tradeit Inventory, and the purchase was made within the last 14 days, our support team can refund it.
Message support and include:
The name of the item or items you want refunded.
The reason you would like to be refunded.
You get back exactly what you paid for the item. Not less, and not more. This is the easiest route for anyone who changed their mind or bought something by mistake, so it is worth asking before you consider anything else.
Can Tradeit cancel a trade for me?
Not once it has completed. A trade on Tradeit is a real Steam trade, so the moment both sides accept, the items move and there is no undo button on our side. Before you accept, you can still decline the offer or let it expire.
If the trade has already gone through, check the refund option above first. If it does not apply to your situation, message our support team anyway and tell us what happened. We can usually help with more than people expect.
What is Steam Trade Protection?
Steam Trade Protection is a Steam feature, not a Tradeit one. It lets you revert CS2 trades made in the past 7 days, restoring the original items to both sides. Steam built it to protect people from scams, mistakes and unauthorised activity on their account.
It is also why items often arrive trade locked and cannot be moved straight away. You can read the details in What is Steam Trade Protection? and Can I withdraw trade locked items?
What if I was scammed, hijacked, or did not receive what was advertised?
Reverting a trade is an action you take from your own Steam account, and in a genuine situation like these it is there for a reason:
Your Steam account was hijacked or used without your permission.
You were scammed.
You did not receive the item we advertised.
It is still worth messaging us first, because we can often fix the problem directly and faster. If you do go ahead and revert the trade, here is exactly what happens so there are no surprises:
Steam gives your Steam account a 30 day trade ban. This one is Steam's, and we cannot lift it.
Your Tradeit account receives a 30 day ban.
The Tradeit ban is not the end of the road. Contact our support team with the details of what happened and any relevant information, and we will review it and work with you to get the ban lifted. If your reason was genuine, we will cooperate.
When reverting a trade is not okay
There is one situation we do treat seriously: reverting trades to make a profit, or with the intention of scamming. That is abuse of a protection built to keep people safe, and it affects the person on the other side of the trade.
Genuine mistakes and genuine scam situations are treated very differently from deliberate ones, which is why telling us the full story helps you.
I just changed my mind
Then start with the refund. If the item is still trade locked in your Tradeit Inventory and you bought it in the last 14 days, message support with the item name and your reason, and you will get back exactly what you paid.
If it falls outside that, nothing is lost. The items are yours, and once any hold ends you can trade them again or send them to Steam from your My Tradeit Inventory page. If the lock has ended and the withdrawal still will not go through, see Why can't I withdraw an item from My Tradeit Inventory?
Talk to us first
Whatever the situation, message our support team before taking action on Steam. Tell us what you expected, what happened, and the item names involved. Most of these cases have a straightforward fix, and starting with us keeps your accounts in good standing while we sort it out.
