Selling items on Tradeit and when you get paid

Your money shows in Revenue as soon as an item sells, Steam locks it for 7 days, then a bank payout takes 2 to 3 business days. Full sale to cash timeline inside.

Short version: When your item sells, the money appears in your Revenue straight away, but Steam holds it for 7 days before you can withdraw it. After those 7 days you request a payout, and a bank payout takes about 2 to 3 business days to arrive. Most sellers have the cash in hand within 7 to 10 days, and around 14 days is the realistic worst case.

The full sale to cash timeline

Nothing is lost at any point in this process. The money is yours from the moment the item sells, it is just held before it can be moved.

  1. Day 0, your item sells. The amount shows in your Revenue immediately, so you can see exactly what you earned.

  2. Day 0 to day 7, Steam Trade Protection. Steam holds every CS2 trade for 7 days. During this time the amount is visible but not yet available to withdraw.

  3. Day 7, the hold ends. The funds become available in your Revenue tab and you can request a payout.

  4. Day 7 to day 10, your payout is processed and sent. A bank transfer then takes about 2 to 3 business days to land in your account. Crypto is usually faster, see How long will it take for my crypto payout to arrive?

Average payment time is 7 to 10 days. Weekends and bank holidays do not count as business days, so a sale made late in the week can push you closer to 14 days.

Why is my item still locked after 7 days of waiting?

Your money is safe and it is not going anywhere. The 7-day hold is Steam Trade Protection, which is Valve's rule, not ours. It applies to every CS2 trade on every site, including Tradeit. We cannot shorten it, skip it, or make an exception for your account.

The clock starts at the moment of the trade, not at the moment you check your Revenue tab, so a sale made on a Monday evening unlocks on the following Monday evening. If the counter looks like it has not moved, give it until the same time of day the sale went through.

Steam Trade Protection also lets a trade be reverted within those 7 days. If you choose to revert a trade, your Steam account will receive a 30-day trade ban in addition to a permanent ban on Tradeit. Full details are in What is Steam Trade Protection?

How to sell your items on Tradeit

Instant Sell to Tradeit. You sell your items directly to us instead of waiting for a buyer. We pay a competitive price based on the item's value and our current internal needs, and you see that price before you confirm. This is the fastest way to liquidate your inventory.

Platform fee: 5 to 20 percent, depending on the item. The fee is reflected in the price you are shown, so there is no separate charge afterwards.

We reserve the right to decline any Instant Sell transaction if we suspect unusual activity, manipulation, or fraudulent behavior. This helps us keep the platform safe and fair for all users.

If your items are not showing up when you try to sell, start with Why don't I see my items in My Tradeit Inventory? or open your My Tradeit Inventory page.

How do I withdraw the money after the 7 days?

Once the hold ends, your funds sit in the Revenue tab and you choose a payout method.

  1. Crypto. Sent to your own crypto wallet. Processing fee: 2 percent.

  2. Bank transfer. Sent straight to your bank account, and it takes about 2 to 3 business days to arrive. Processing fee: 2 percent. Check Which countries are eligible for a bank payout? before you request one, because the list of supported countries is limited.

  3. Debit card. Coming soon for selected countries. Processing fee: to be confirmed.

What is the difference between Pending and Paid?

Pending means we have your payout request and it is being processed. The money has not left our side yet, and it is still fully yours.

Paid means the payout has been sent from our side. It does not mean the money has landed in your account yet. For a bank transfer, allow about 2 to 3 business days from the moment the status turns to Paid. For crypto, see How long will it take for my crypto payout to arrive?

So a payout marked Paid with no money in your bank yet is normal for the first 2 to 3 business days. After that, contact our support team.

Can I withdraw my Tradeit balance instead?

No, and this is the part people most often mix up. Money you sold items for goes to your Revenue and can be paid out. Balance that you added to your account is different and cannot be withdrawn directly. You can use balance to get items, and then sell those items to receive funds you can pay out.

The details are in How can I withdraw my balance? For the different balance types, see What is Trade Balance? and What is Store Balance?

My payout is late, what do I do?

Work through this in order before contacting us, because it resolves most cases.

  • Has it been a full 7 days since the sale, counted from the exact time of the trade? If not, the hold is still running and there is nothing to fix.

  • Is the status Pending or Paid? Pending means it is still with us. Paid means it has been sent and you are waiting on your bank or the blockchain.

  • If it is Paid by bank transfer, has it been more than 3 business days, not counting weekends and bank holidays?

  • Is your country on the bank payout list, and do the account details you entered match your own name exactly?

If you have gone through all of that and the money is still not with you, contact our support team through the chat on the site. Include the date and time of the sale, the payout method, the amount, and the status you can see. That lets us trace the exact payout instead of asking you for it later.
